From Pipe Organs to Gold Teeth!
One of my favorite things about working in estate sales is that no two days are ever the same.
One morning we might be uncovering a beautiful antique china set. By afternoon, we're figuring out how to move a massive pipe organ that takes half a dozen people just to budge. Every home has a story, and every drawer, attic, garage, and basement seems to have a surprise waiting inside.
Over the past few months alone, we've come across everything from antique morphine containers and vintage medical instruments to old coins, military memorabilia, gold teeth tucked away in unexpected places, antique tools, and yes—even firearms that had been forgotten for decades. We've handled delicate Victorian jewelry one day and tractor parts the next. It's truly a treasure hunt where you never know what's around the corner.
What makes this work so rewarding isn't just the unusual discoveries—it's the history behind them.
Every object belonged to someone.
It was purchased, used, treasured, repaired, displayed, or carefully tucked away for safekeeping. We get the privilege of helping those stories continue as these items find new homes with people who will appreciate them once again.
So if you've ever wondered whether your home contains anything interesting, the answer is probably yes! Sometimes the most ordinary-looking cabinet holds the most extraordinary surprise.
That's the beauty of estate sales.
Variety really is the spice of life.
